| January 2010 | | Publication of the GICHD Mechanical Demining Equipment Catalogue 2010 | The Mechanical Demining Equipment Catalogue 2010 provides the humanitarian mine action community with a comprehensive overview of the equipment available at the moment on the market. The publication is designed to help those who purchase mechanical demining equipment to make the right decisions.
The Catalogue describes three categories of machines: mine clearance machines, ground preparation machines and mine protected vehicles. In addition, it includes a checklist of guidelines for purchasing mechanical demining machines.
The equipment listed in the GICHD catalogue has not been tested or evaluated by the GICHD, but where available test and evaluation reports or cited. Readers interested in these reports should either contact the manufacturers directly or refer to the ITEP website. From mid-2010 all ITEP-related material will be posted on the GICHD website. |
