| December 2005 | | Publication of the CEN Workshop Agreement on EOD Competency Standards | The CEN Workshop Agreement CWA 15464 covers the conventional munitions disposal part of EOD in mine action. The purpose of this CWA is to provide an accurate assessment tool to enable appropriate recognition of the professional competence of an individual. The use of it should allow Mine Action Programs to enhance the capacity building process by providing a tool for planning and assessing the personal development of staff.
The CWA 15464 consists of a general requirements document, a competency matrix and three additional documents with the competency requirements for EOD level 1, EOD level 2 and EOD level 3 respectively. This CWA should be used to define the competency required by different categories of staff on technical matters related to mine action activities. |
