| Title: | Evaluation of Conditioned Bees for Detecting of Buried Landmines. | ||||||
| Description: | Using the bee explosive detection system currently under development and funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, trials will be conducted to determine if bees can reliably detect buried landmines. Freshly buried mines, as well as ones that have been buried for several years will be available for detection. Bees will be conditioned and then released and tracked, using LIDAR. Conditioning and tracking will be done by Bee Alert Technology (Dr. Jerry Bromenshenk, University of Montana), using their own protocols. | ||||||
| Aim: | To provide a test and evaluation report on the ability of conditioned local bees to detect buried landmines. | ||||||
