Comments:
  • The GERO system was tested as a follow-up system to a stand-alone metal detector at the same time as the dual-sensor detectors in Autumn 2009 (ITEP Project 2.4.2.13). Due to the promising performance of the tested combination of stand-alone GPR and metal detector it was decided to test some additional stand-alone GPR systems, at the same test facility and using the same test protocol as applied during the 2009 dual-sensor trial. The latter tests are planned for summer 2010.
  • It was originally also envisaged to test two Russian ground penetrating radar systems, Geological Prospecting MIRADOR and GEOSCOPE GPR systems, but in the end they were not made available for the trial.
  • Results of the October 2009 GERO GPR test can be found in the 2010 ITEP WGMS presentation and the ITEP dual sensor trial summary published in July 2010.
